The Problem It Solves

A manganese greensand media bed is exposed to outside air injected during regeneration, activating its oxidizing capacity and converting dissolved iron, manganese and sulfide into solid precipitates.
Those precipitates are filtered out, then flushed from the media bed during regeneration — so they never reach your plumbing or fixtures.
